The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) has said that Ondo State is the leading state in agricultural funding in Nigeria. Programmes Manager for IFAD in the country, Miss Atsuko Toda, stated this in Akure, during a visit to the state's Commissioner for Agriculture at the end of a tour of the state.
"Records show that Ondo is the leading state among its peers, when it comes to commitment and support given to IFAD programmes," she said.
She also added that the state has been using the jointly-sponsored programme in areas where it has comparative advantage over others, such as fishing and provision of cocoa seedlings and herbicides
